I take messy problems and turn them into tools that feel straightforward to use.
I am a web engineer based in San Antonio, living with my wife Clarissa, our cat Bunny, and our dog Hazel. My main work is building interactive systems for museums and cultural institutions, plus part-time contract work on government web platforms.
I started teaching myself to code in 2018 and moved into development full time around 2021. AI tooling is a real part of how I work now. I still have to know what I am asking for and whether the result is right, and that is most of the job.
Outside of work, I make furniture, play guitar, and cook vegetarian meals inspired by Indian cooking. I like things that take patience: joinery, fermentation, long walks with the dog.
Professional Background
My professional experience has centered around interactive systems for museums, festivals, and public institutions. This background shaped my approach to reliability, accessibility, and how technology supports real human exploration. The projects shown below are examples of past collaborative work.
CMS & Government Platforms
State public health agencies, state law enforcement agencies, national public health nonprofits, and state reproductive health programs.
Large-scale Drupal and WordPress sites for public health agencies. Lots of content modeling, accessibility audits, and keeping things running for years.
Museums & Map-Based Storytelling
National crafts organizations, county museums, state historical commissions, and battlefield preservation nonprofits.
Touchscreen kiosks in museums and visitor centers. Usually involves maps, timelines, and making complicated history easy to browse.

How I got here
I started teaching myself to code in 2018, while I was managing a Guitar Center. The goal was simple. I wanted to move into tech and work remotely, and I was willing to put in the nights and weekends to get there. I took on small projects, kept learning, and moved into development full time around 2021.
I have been building web and interactive systems ever since. Somewhere along the way the AI tools got genuinely good, and I leaned into them. They are a real part of how I work now. They help me move faster, work across more of the stack, and keep learning. I am not shy about that. I still have to know what I am asking for and whether the result is right, and that is most of the job.
My main role is Senior Web Engineer at Interactive Knowledge, a small studio that builds interactive experiences for museums and cultural institutions. I also do part-time contract work as a Senior Web Developer on government web platforms. Before this I worked in health and wellness web at Giddy, on retail and e-commerce at Beef Jerky Experience, and as a contractor at Monarch Digital. My degrees are in sound engineering and business, and five years managing at Guitar Center still shapes how I think about the people using what I build.
I also keep Neel Vora LLC active for a someday business, maybe woodworking, music, lessons, or recording, but I am not running anything through it right now.
