Expandable Planer Table

A rolling infeed/outfeed table for my planer with expandable wings and rollers. Similar to the outfeed table build, maybe even simpler.

Build Notes

After building the expandable outfeed table, this one was pretty straightforward. Same concept, similar frame construction – I already knew the drill.

The Build

The frame was really similar to the expandable outfeed table – 2x4 construction with half lap joints, plywood top, wheels on the bottom. If anything, this one was a little bit simpler.

The Tricky Part

The only thing that was a little bit tricky was getting the rollers in the right place and attaching the hardware correctly. The rollers need to be at exactly the right height to support the wood as it feeds through the planer.

Other than that, this was basically the same as the outfeed table build. Having done that one first made this one go much smoother.

The Result

Now I have proper support for my planer, which makes a huge difference when working with longer boards. The expandable wings fold up when not in use, and the whole thing rolls out of the way when I need the space.
